It is nestled between the Mississippi River on one side and rugged bluffs on the other, while offering wonderful views of the river valley. Nature lovers will love the Great Divide National Scenic Highway, a 29-mile route from Hayward to Glidden on Hwy. 77. This drive takes you through the tall pine forest of Wisconsin’s majestic Northwoods. Go to Crystal Cave, the largest 3-level cave in the Midwest, located in Spring Valley where thousands of year old stalactites and stalagmites line the entirety.

You can visit the circus any day of the week to see performers under the Big Top at this 50-acre museum, located at the original winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers. Discover Appleton’s famous Harry Houdini Historical Center, and explore a unique collection that includes handcuffs, locks, leg irons, and lock picks actually owned and used by Houdini along with other memorabilia. Learn about his childhood years, and see demonstrations and hands-on exhibits to learn about Houdini’s escapes. You might enjoy a stop at the Spinning Top Museum in Burlington. Featuring more than 2000 tops, yo-yos, and gyroscopes on exhibit, you’ll see videos and a live presentation by an expert top collector that will truly make your head spin.
